Prerequisites : Silver metal clay Advanced Class is necessary.

 

Program :

This class is a continuation of the Advanced Class. An afternoon lasting approximately 8 hours (with a lunch break approximatly 1 hour) in order for you to learn several differenttechniques of working with silver metal clay, as well as going over some of the techniques that you learned in the Initiaion Class.

 

These techniques include :

• The creation of a ring
• The creation of a dimensional piece
• rolling out the clay to an even thickness
• cutting
• forming
• assembling
• use of liquid paste (slurry)
• use of texture sheets
• drying
• finishing before baking
• torch firing
• finishing and polishing after firing
• oxidation of the piece if desired.

 

Material furnished by the instructor :

• Liquide paste
• Work surface
• Acrylic roller
• Spacers
• Texture sheets
• Shape cutters
• Molds
• COULEUR SHAPER (silicone tool for shaping the clay)
• Files
• Heat board
• Butane torch
• Liver of sulphur (LOS) for oxidizing the piece if desired
• Silver findings for the pendant, earrings or charms
• Sterling silver chain for the pendentif

 

For all courses, all materials are provided by the instructor, except the 30g of clay. The tools are loaned during the course.
